Meaning
"I came up with this piece as a way to honor my mom, a 2x cancer survivor. Even though I could tell she was suffering immensely, she remained so strong throughout her journey both times. She's always felt like a warm, bright light of love to me, and that didn't change even when things were at their worst. Even though I was sad and worried the whole time, she remained reassuring and steady. She provided me with a super clear example of what it means to go through something excruciating, and to come out stronger on the other side. That light will stay with me forever. I hope this piece can help crystalize these feelings for others, too! "
